I'm working on a site that serves as an alternative to Hacker News. There you will find two relevant options (at least I thought so kkk)

1. A notification system. All posts that are commented on or voted on (positively or negatively) will generate notifications on the site for the owners of the respective posts.

2. Diversity of topics. On Comuniq we're not fixated on a single theme, so users who like topics such as health, politics, entertainment, art, etc. will be able to post there and generate very intelligent debates.

We're not trying to take power away from our monster hn, but rather to provide another option where we can talk about other things we love. Check us out at https://comuniq.xyz

things that in a way activate our intellect and stimulate learning

SEEKING WORK | remote

over the last few years I've dedicated myself to building everything that comes into my head, so I've come up with these little projects: <https://chat-to.dev>, <https://wishtogether.xyz> and <https://comuniq.xyz>.

I've mastered the following technologies: Javascript, Php, Css and a bit of Python. I'm looking for something remote to work on and keep my services going because I believe in them so much :-)

Just move it! Is there no explanation as to why the comments were moved?

Oh yes, the explanation is simply that we merge threads that are about the same underlying story, so as not to have split discussion.

We don't usually say that explicitly, because it's so common and always the same.

true! but all I know is that I'm seeing more and more great professionals, especially in the IT sector, being made redundant :(

I think the best way to aggregate them is to use HN, I don't see another way with a community as good as the one here.

And my favorite blog is <https://chat-to.dev>

before you start writing nonsense take a look at the posts I've posted and how many of them are relevant to the people here

It mostly looks like spam: https://hn.algolia.com/?q=https%3A%2F%2Fchat-to.dev

I stand by what I said... and a lot of them were posted under username cannibalXxx, which has even more spam. They just look like low-effort SEO bait. The self-promotion has gone a bit too far, IMO, but you do you...

but my idea is to create a mix between Reddit, Nextdoor and neighborhood WhatsApp groups, but with a public, organized and intelligent experience.

the main purpose of this app is to help people organize gifts and avoid embarrassment and unnecessary expenses at many events

why do we have to sanitize the input fields? why do we have to configure more headers? why even if we have https configured do we still have to add many other security elements?

Take a step back and think about what security is in the first place - it is reducing the risk of people engaging in behaviors that you do not want. The list of those behaviors is not consistent between apps, although there is a large base of common concerns. HTTPS resolves one of those common concerns. No more, no less. Expecting one solution to all concerns is not a reasonable expectation.

Because the point of HTTPS is to prevent man in the middle attacks. It isn't supposed to do everything.
