Also for us Google Compute Engine turned out to be better for our use case (cloud encoding, c.f. https://www.bitcodin.com/blog/2015/08/how-bitcodin-utilizes-...). For it was nice to have shorter billing periods (just 10 minutes vs. 1 hour with AWS) and better interconnection bandwidth between the cloud instances.
