Should my family try to get a serological Covid19 test?

My wife was at a Montessori training program with someone from China a few weeks before Christmas. Around Christmas, one by one, we all fell pretty sick with flu symptoms. However, the flu tests we had done at the doctor returned negative and they didn't have an answer for what we had. After about a week or so, we were pretty much back to normal.

Since it's becoming clear China has lied about numbers and dates I wonder if we had Covid19. If so, this would predate the first case in the US by weeks.

I don't want to waste any healthcare worker's time. Is it worth it to reach out to a doc with this information?
