Great work!

Consider submitting it to https://esolangs.org Since it's based on OCR, it might actually be completely novel. I've certainly never seen anything like it.

raise ParseError("Found an arrow, but not sure what direction it's pointing")
Hah. This is a great compiler/parser error message.

fwiw, I started working on a CV/OCR scripting language a few years ago, now called Wildcard. It's "emoji"-based, but the initial input was meant to be from a camera. https://youtu.be/dSOfMSS9aFY https://github.com/hugs/wildcard

I am now thinking about a LEGO Boost robot controlled by an app on a phone that would execute cards of the Robot Turtle board game... http://www.robotturtles.com/

There was a time a few years ago when a co-worker and I liked to trade interesting esoteric programming languages that we found.

One of my favourites was Piet, https://esolangs.org/wiki/Piet, which also has images for source files.

The creator of Piet chimed in on the Twitter announcement thread. https://mobile.twitter.com/TartanLlama/status/14019462727230...

Piet was my first thought when I saw the submission title too.

Fascinating language.

This is cool, it's like programming in egypt, drawing the commands.

Imagine walking around a pyramid and you find a power plug. You plug it in and the pyramid executes everything etched into it as a software program.

Keep going! There's a novel I'd like to read there, or a film I'd like to watch!

Oddly, I get told that a lot.

Then I think you should take the 'hint'!

:-)

Fun! I thought it was going to be like this one http://doc.sikuli.org/

Vizualf*ck, child of Brainf*ck.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainfuck

There is a brainfuck implementation in the samples directory.

"Vizualf*ck"? So just porn then?

This is fun. Do the symbols have a semantic meaning or is it just encoded data?
