Hey HN, today we’re launching SMS logins on Supabase Auth. Although it wasn’t a huge technical challenge, I’m very excited about this release because it lays the groundwork for for MFA. We’ll start with SMS 2FA, and then target other 2FA systems (like Authy) next.

We’re also releasing Twitch OAuth which brings out total OAuth providers to 10 (Apple, Azure, Bitbucket, Discord, Facebook, GitHub, GitLab, Google, Twitch, Twitter).

We’re in the middle of a “Launch Week” [0]. Yesterday we launched Storage in Beta [1], and on Monday we moved to Postgres 13.3 [2].

Finally, last time we were on HN there a few comments calling us out on being too difficult to self-host. The feedback was fair, and we've made some amendments. We've worked with a few companies on their self hosting, including Epsilon3 (who did a LaunchHN last week) who are hosting Supabase in GovCloud[3], we’ve improved the self-hosting docs [4], and we’ve started open-sourcing our Dashboard (the last part of the platform to open source) [5].
