'It's been hell': Amazon packages mistakenly sent to SJ woman's home (abc7news.com)

The photos of essentially piles of garbage sitting in this poor woman's driveway is outrageous. Insane that Amazon hasn't been helpful or successful at ceasing this activity for over 1 year despite all of her calls and escalations.

Looks like the news coverage actually got Amazon to do something after they ignored the customer's complaints for over a year:

> While we didn't get a direct answer, the tech giant told us: "We'd like to thank ABC 7 On Your Side for bringing this to our attention. We've apologized to the customer and are working directly with her to pick-up any packages while taking steps to permanently resolve this issue."

> And finally, after a year of waiting, some good news for Kay.

> The company removed all the packages on her property this morning, vowing to crack down on these practices.

Infuriating it took a news investigation for Amazon to actually help her.

They might fix it for this one person, but not do anything for anybody else caught by a scam like this (it's not a 'mistake' as the headline says--the sellers are doing it deliberately).

Your classic case of nobody who cares is empowered to do the right thing until a news story happens.

Amazon of course doesn't care, that's their MO.
