It's worth emphasizing the fact that Nate Silver's model != Nate Silver's prediction. He has explicitly said many times that if you were to ask him what he thought the outcome would be, he wouldn't go entirely by his model. Rather, he uses the model as the basis of his predictions. This confuses a lot of people because he generally doesn't make predictions publicly, but rather he analyzes what's happening based on the model.
