So you say, but popularity "in every thread" (whatever that means) is a silly metric. Also I'm not sure what you mean by "then GPL would have won instead of MIT". Its not a war, even if some trendy corporate wannabe hacker tries to convince you that it is so that you give him the fruits of your labor for nothing. And if it was a war... show me the MIT licensed toolchain, the MIT licensed OS, etc. I'm not hating on permissively licensed free software at all, I appreciate those who write it and give it to the world... but I'm going to call you out if you try to sow the seeds of division among hackers.
